Toddler Shadow Puppets

Here is a free activity, use your hands to create shadow puppets on the wall. You can re-create your child’s favorite story or let them lead in telling their own story. Lil B had fun just chasing his father’s shadow along the wall. We had the lights off in the room we were in but had the adjoining room lights on behind us. Sorry for the poor photography but a flash ruined the shadow!

Pointillism for Toddlers

Easy painting with young toddlers…let them stamp with dots. Older toddlers can stamp different shapes, letters or numbers with the dots but let them use the dots to create their own work of art too!

Have older children…try the same thing with a q-tip and paint. Introduce them to Georges Seurat, an artist well known for pointillism.

Not so much Art but Fine Motor Skills

Materials:
1 basket with holes (found at Dollar Tree)
1 package of “fuzzy balls” any craft type of balls (also from Dollar Tree)…Lil B nicknamed them fuzzy balls.

Activity:
Simple. Place the fuzzy balls through the holes. Repeat.

Crazy Hat

Materials: pipe cleaners, plastic strainer
Improve your toddler’s fine motor skills with three-dimensional building. The pipe cleaners fit perfect in the holes of a plastic strainer. And when you are done it can be a crazy hat!

Monster Truck Painting

Painting does not have to be with a brush. Use a favorite truck or car and roll it across the page in some paint. Make sure to use washable paint so it will wash off the favorite truck easily! Cover the table for easy clean up.

Non Messy Toddler Paint

Scared to give your toddler paint? Ease your fear and boost their painting skills with a brush and a bucket of water….driveway or sidewalk recommended.
